Service closure

Fond is closing on Thursday, October 29, 2026. Deglaze Corp. is winding down. Full details, dates, and refund information are on the closure page. What it means for your personal information:

Until October 29, 2026 the Service runs as described in this policy. Imports and cooks are free; nothing is charged.
Export. The final app update (version 3.2.0) adds Export my data in Settings, which gives you your profile, contact details, authored and saved recipes, and cooking history as JSON and Markdown. After the Service closes, Export my data and Delete Account remain available on the app’s closed screen to anyone still signed in to version 3.2.0 — whichever sign-in method you used (email, Google, Apple or phone number) — until January 31, 2027. You can also request the export by emailing privacy@getfond.com: from the email address on your account, or, for accounts registered with a phone number only or whose stored address cannot be used to send mail (such as an Apple Hide My Email relay), from any address stating the phone number or address on file — we then confirm ownership by asking for details that are not public (for example the titles of recipes you recently saved or cooked, or the month you signed up — never your handle alone, which is public) before releasing anything. Export requests by email are accepted until January 15, 2027 so they can be handled before the final deletion; the in-app export keeps working until January 31, 2027, and all remaining personal data is deleted by February 1, 2027.
Delete sooner. Account deletion in the app works until close and, in version 3.2.0, from the closed screen until January 31, 2027. Or email privacy@getfond.com — from the address on your account, or with the same ownership check if you signed up by phone or cannot send from the address on file — and we will delete your account within ten business days. Requests by email are accepted until January 15, 2027; all remaining personal data is deleted by February 1, 2027 regardless.
Deletion of everything else. After close we delete all personal data — accounts, contact details, cooking history, tokens, and analytics identifiers — from our systems and from each processor listed below. This completes by February 1, 2027.
Attribution records (recipe, source, creator handle) are preserved in an offline archive so that creators’ credit trails are not lost. The handle can identify you, so this is an explicit retention exception to the deletion above, consistent with the permanence of public attribution described in “Public attribution”; nothing else about your account is kept with it. No public recipe pages remain after close.
Payment records are not deleted. Our records of purchases (including exports from RevenueCat and Stripe) and the records held by Apple, Google and Stripe are retained as financial records for seven years, as the law requires. Subscriptions purchased through our earlier web checkout were processed by Stripe; those payment records are retained as financial records for 7 years and are not deleted on 2027-02-01.

Fond is operated by Deglaze Corp. (“Fond,” “we,” “us”). This policy describes what we collect, why, and what your choices are when you use the Fond mobile app, getfond.com and recipe.getfond.com, and Fond’s agent connections (our MCP server), together the “Service.”

The short version: Fond exists to make recipes cookable and to keep credit attached to the people who created them. We collect what the Service needs to do that. We don’t sell your personal information, and we never see your payment card details.

What we collect

Account information. When you sign up we collect the identifier you sign up with — a phone number, an email address, or your Google account — plus a display name if you set one. You can also use Fond anonymously before creating an account; anonymous use is tracked under a random identifier that is merged into your account if you later sign up.

Recipes and cooking activity. Recipes you import or create, including their structured form, edit history, and lineage (which recipe a version came from). When you cook with Fond, we record the cook — which steps ran, timers, and your verdict — as your cooking history. This powers your personal history and creator attribution.

Public attribution. Recipes in the Fond registry carry attribution: who created them and where they came from. If you publish or share a recipe, its attribution record — including your creator identity on it — is public and travels with every copy. Attribution records on published recipes are permanent and are preserved even if you later delete your account (see “Deleting your data”).

TikTok connection (optional). If you link your TikTok account, we receive your TikTok profile information and, when you use the saved-posts import feature, the posts you’ve saved, via our processor TikAPI. We store the access tokens needed to keep the connection working. You can unlink TikTok at any time in the app.

Purchases. Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple, Google, and our subscription processor RevenueCat. Subscriptions bought through our earlier web checkout were processed by Stripe. We receive records of what you purchased and its status. We never receive or store your card numbers.

Usage and diagnostics. We use Amplitude for product analytics (which features are used, including purchase events), AppsFlyer for install and link attribution (so a shared recipe link opens correctly and we know which links work), and Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting.

Search index. Your saved recipes are indexed under your account identifier in our search provider, Weaviate, so that search in the app works.

Operational logs. Some internal operational logs (for example, import failures and sign-ups) are posted to our team’s Slack workspace and a Google Sheet. They contain account identifiers and handles, not your contact details.

Messages we send you. Service announcements — including closure notices — are sent to the email address on your account through Mailchimp.

Messages you send us. Support email goes to the mailbox you write to (help@getfond.com or privacy@getfond.com).

Agent connections. If you connect an external AI agent to Fond through our MCP server, the connection is authorized with OAuth tokens we store server-side. Actions the agent takes on your account (like saving a recipe) are recorded the same way as actions you take in the app.

How we use it

To run the Service: convert, store, schedule, and play back recipes; keep your cooking history; sync across devices.
To maintain attribution: keep creator credit attached to recipes and record cooks against the recipes cooked.
To convert recipes: recipe content you import is processed by AI service providers to produce the structured, cookable form. Only the recipe content is sent for conversion, not your account details.
To improve the product: aggregate usage analytics, crash diagnostics.
To communicate with you: support replies, service announcements.
To prevent abuse and comply with law.

We share personal information only with the processors that operate the Service: Google (Firebase and Google Cloud — authentication, database, hosting, functions, Crashlytics crash reporting), Amplitude (analytics), AppsFlyer (install/link attribution), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Stripe (earlier web subscriptions), Mailchimp (email), Weaviate (search index), Slack and Google Sheets (internal operational logs containing account identifiers), TikAPI (only if you link TikTok), and AI providers that process recipe content during conversion. Each receives only what its function requires.

We may disclose information if required by law, or as part of a corporate transaction (merger, acquisition), in which case this policy continues to apply to it.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising.

Retention and deleting your data

You can delete your account in the app (Profile → Settings → Delete Account; instructions here). Deletion is permanent:

Your cooking history and the recipes you created are deleted after 30 days.
Recipes you imported from other creators remain in the registry (they are the creators’ work).
Public attribution records on published recipes are preserved — removing them would erase other people’s credit trails. They stop being linked to a usable account.

We retain account data while your account is active. Analytics and crash data are retained per our processors’ standard windows.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the app; for anything else, email privacy@getfond.com and we’ll respond within the timeline your law requires. We do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Children

Fond is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We’ll post any changes to this policy here and note the date of the update at the top. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email.
