Privacy Policy

Fond is operated by Deglaze Corp. (“Fond,” “we,” “us”). This policy describes what we collect, why, and what your choices are when you use the Fond mobile app, getfond.com and recipe.getfond.com, and Fond’s agent connections (our MCP server), together the “Service.”

The short version: Fond exists to make recipes cookable and to keep credit attached to the people who created them. We collect what the Service needs to do that. We don’t sell your personal information, and we never see your payment card details.

What we collect

Account information. When you sign up we collect the identifier you sign up with — a phone number, an email address, or your Google account — plus a display name if you set one. You can also use Fond anonymously before creating an account; anonymous use is tracked under a random identifier that is merged into your account if you later sign up.

Recipes and cooking activity. Recipes you import or create, including their structured form, edit history, and lineage (which recipe a version came from). When you cook with Fond, we record the cook — which steps ran, timers, and your verdict — as your cooking history. This powers your personal history and creator attribution.

Public attribution. Recipes in the Fond registry carry attribution: who created them and where they came from. If you publish or share a recipe, its attribution record — including your creator identity on it — is public and travels with every copy. Attribution records on published recipes are permanent and are preserved even if you later delete your account (see “Deleting your data”).

TikTok connection (optional). If you link your TikTok account, we receive your TikTok profile information and, when you use the saved-posts import feature, the posts you’ve saved, via our processor TikAPI. We store the access tokens needed to keep the connection working. You can unlink TikTok at any time in the app.

Purchases. Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple, Google, and our subscription processor RevenueCat. We receive records of what you purchased and its status. We never receive or store your card numbers.

Usage and diagnostics. We use Amplitude for product analytics (which features are used, including purchase events), AppsFlyer for install and link attribution (so a shared recipe link opens correctly and we know which links work), and Sentry for crash reporting.

Messages you send us. The contact form collects your name, email, subject, and message. Support email goes to the mailbox you write to.

Agent connections. If you connect an external AI agent to Fond through our MCP server, the connection is authorized with OAuth tokens we store server-side. Actions the agent takes on your account (like saving a recipe) are recorded the same way as actions you take in the app.

How we use it

To run the Service: convert, store, schedule, and play back recipes; keep your cooking history; sync across devices.
To maintain attribution: keep creator credit attached to recipes and record cooks against the recipes cooked.
To convert recipes: recipe content you import is processed by AI service providers to produce the structured, cookable form. Only the recipe content is sent for conversion, not your account details.
To improve the product: aggregate usage analytics, crash diagnostics.
To communicate with you: support replies, service announcements.
To prevent abuse and comply with law.

We share personal information only with the processors that operate the Service: Google (Firebase and Google Cloud — authentication, database, hosting, functions), Amplitude (analytics), AppsFlyer (install/link attribution), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Sentry (crash reporting), TikAPI (only if you link TikTok), and AI providers that process recipe content during conversion. Each receives only what its function requires.

We may disclose information if required by law, or as part of a corporate transaction (merger, acquisition), in which case this policy continues to apply to it.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising.

Retention and deleting your data

You can delete your account in the app (Profile → Settings → Delete Account; instructions here). Deletion is permanent:

Your cooking history and the recipes you created are deleted after 30 days.
Recipes you imported from other creators remain in the registry (they are the creators’ work).
Public attribution records on published recipes are preserved — removing them would erase other people’s credit trails. They stop being linked to a usable account.

We retain account data while your account is active. Analytics and crash data are retained per our processors’ standard windows.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the app; for anything else, email privacy@getfond.com and we’ll respond within the timeline your law requires. We do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Children

Fond is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We’ll post any changes to this policy here and update the effective date. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email.
