Terms of Service
Effective date: August 27, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Fond — the Fond mobile app, getfond.com and recipe.getfond.com, and Fond’s agent connections (our MCP server), together the “Service” — operated by Deglaze Corp. (“Fond,” “we,” “us”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.
1. What Fond is
Fond converts recipes into a structured, step-by-step cookable form, plays them back while you cook, and maintains a registry of recipes with their origin, lineage, and creator attribution. Cooking a recipe’s baseline form is free.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. You can use parts of the Service without an account; anonymous activity is kept under a random identifier and merged into your account if you sign up. You’re responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. If you connect an external AI agent to your account through our MCP server, actions it takes are your actions under these Terms.
3. Your content and license to us
You keep ownership of the recipes and other content you create or import (“Your Content”). You grant Fond a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, convert to structured form, reproduce, display, and distribute Your Content as needed to operate and improve the Service — including processing recipe content with AI providers to produce its structured form. This license ends when Your Content is deleted from the Service, except as described in Section 4.
You may only import content you have the right to use. Import is user-initiated: the Service captures the recipe’s procedure and attribution metadata for your own cooking, not bulk copies of expressive content.
4. Attribution and lineage
The registry’s purpose is keeping credit attached to work. Recipes carry a canonical identity, lineage (what they were derived from), and attribution (who created them), and these travel with every copy or export. By publishing or sharing a recipe you agree its attribution record is public and permanent — it is preserved even if you later delete your account, because removing it would erase other people’s credit trails. Creating a variant of another recipe records that relationship visibly.
You may not misrepresent the origin of a recipe, claim someone else’s work as your own, or strip attribution from anything that leaves the Service.
5. Creators and claims
Creators can enroll to claim authorship of recipes in the registry. Claims are decided on evidence under our published process — first to prove, not first to file — and asserting authorship is free. Creator earnings, where available, are governed by the creator program’s own terms, which are presented at enrollment; features described in the app or on the site as upcoming are not commitments until they ship. Attribution itself is never conditioned on payment.
6. Purchases
Subscriptions and purchases are billed through Apple or Google and managed by our subscription processor. Prices and terms are shown before you buy; subscriptions renew until cancelled through your app store account. Except where law requires otherwise, purchases are non-refundable — refund requests for app-store purchases go through Apple or Google. Paid features add tools and premium experiences; cooking a recipe’s baseline form remains free.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- scrape, bulk-harvest, or systematically extract content from the Service or from third-party sites through the Service;
- impersonate any person or misattribute content;
- interfere with the Service’s operation or attempt to access it by any means other than the interfaces we provide (including circumventing our MCP server’s authorization);
- use the Service to violate any law or third-party right.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
8. Third-party services
The Service integrates third-party services — for example, linking TikTok to import your saved posts. Their terms govern your relationship with them. We’re not responsible for third-party services, and links to external recipes belong to their sites.
9. Termination and deletion
You can stop using the Service or delete your account at any time (instructions). On deletion, your cooking history and recipes you created are deleted after 30 days; recipes imported from other creators remain in the registry; and public attribution records are preserved as described in Section 4. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, with notice where practicable.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Recipes are user- and creator-supplied: you are responsible for food safety in your kitchen — cooking times, temperatures, allergens, and dietary suitability. Fond’s structured form is a rendering aid, not professional dietary or safety advice.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Deglaze Corp. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limitations, so they may not fully apply to you.
12. Indemnity
You will indemnify Deglaze Corp. against claims arising from Your Content or your breach of these Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms; we’ll post changes here and update the effective date, and announce material changes in the app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect is acceptance.
